OUR STORY & PURPOSE

Australia’s first ever thrift event dedicated to modest wear - here in Perth, WA.

Modest Thrift Club was created from a struggle that many women experience, but rarely talk about..how difficult it can be to find modest clothing (that in itself is a struggle) while being reasonably priced.

Often, by the time you find a piece you truly love, it is expensive. At the same time, fashion trends change constantly, and many women who enjoy expressing their style like to refresh their wardrobe more often than their budget comfortably allows.

This often leaves wardrobes full of beautiful pieces that have only been worn once or a few times, especially occasion wear, but are no longer being reached for.

We realised that while thrift and resale culture is growing globally, there were very few spaces dedicated specifically to preloved modest fashion. Women who dress modestly didn’t have a place where they could easily buy and sell pieces suited to their style.

Modest Thrift Club was created to change that.

What began as a simple idea quickly grew into something much bigger than we ever imagined. Our very first Modest Thrift Club event welcomed over 1,600 attendees and brought together 40+ incredible vendors, creating a vibrant day filled with fashion, connection, and community. The overwhelming support confirmed just how much this space was needed, and inspired us to continue growing Modest Thrift Club into something that people can look forward to time and time again.

Modest Thrift Club is also a space for online modest fashion businesses to connect with their audience in person. Many brands exist online only, and we wanted to create an opportunity for customers to see products up close, try pieces, and discover new small businesses within the community.

Most importantly, Modest Thrift Club is about connection. A space where women who share similar values around fashion, creativity, and modest style can come together, browse, chat, and feel inspired rather than steered away from modesty as a result of limitation.

By giving clothing a second chance, we also reduce waste and move away from the cycle of fast fashion, encouraging more thoughtful purchasing choices.

Modest Thrift Club is more than just a market — it is a growing community built around modesty, sustainability, and shared expression.
